LEICA FILM
M6 PRODUCTION RUN
Honouring 70 Years of Leica M Through the M6
Designed for the Leica M6, this underwater housing features a fully functional film advance lever, machined from solid titanium, hand-polished, and finished in bronze PVD-coated titanium. The detailed internal actuator sits behind a curved viewing window sculpted from optical crystal glass, enabling owners to observe the full motion of their film advance. The external lever on top precisely mirrors the radius of the viewing window below, seamlessly blending form and function.
Over a year of dedicated design, engineering, and prototyping preceded final machining to achieve our exacting standards.
Independently certified by DOER Marine to the maximum recreational scuba depth.
A single production run of 13 units.
One unit from the M6 Production Run was built exclusively for Leica Store Bellevue, featuring a laser engraved and paint-filled orca — the official marine mammal of Washington State, and remains on permanent display in store.

“We set out to create something truly monumental. What followed is one of our most thoughtful designs. If you can’t minimise it, speak to it — which is how the curved film advance window was conceived. It remains my favourite detail. A single production run, never to be repeated and without compromise. Shaped by trial and error, resulting in over a year of development. Fully functional art.”
